Festival de la Fiction

Our history

As the main audiovisual event in France and Europe, and the first to consider fiction as a major creative genre, the Festival de la Fiction has been promoting works for 25 years. Born in the southern town of Saint-Tropez, it has been held for the past 15 years in La Rochelle, under the spray of the Atlantic Ocean, in response to the influx of professionals and its growing success with the general public.

the Festival

Each year, the Festival de la Fiction offers the opportunity to discover nearly 60 series and films presented in official competitions (Française, Européenne et Francophone Étrangère), out of competition, as well as in special screenings.

It is a place for exchanges, meetings and reflections for all the French and foreign professionals who work daily to think about the fiction of tomorrow, intended for all audiences and broadcast on all networks. Political and creative debates, round tables and conferences, meetings with broadcasters, author pitches, Rendez-vous de la Création Francophone, etc.: there are many opportunities for everyone to think and build a bright future for the genre.

The Festival de la Fiction is also the only one to bring together all the creative professions, from the precious hands of production to the major players in the political and economic audiovisual world.

Every year, the general public is there to discover new works, meet the stars of fiction and attend the many signings.

Nearly 50 private and public partners support the festival and have been loyal to it for nearly a quarter of a century.

environmental responsibility

For several years now, the Festival has been committed to greater sustainability.

In the continuity of this approach, the Festival has signed in 2023 the level 3 of the Charter of Eco-Responsible Events in La Rochelle.
