The Rendez-vous of Francophone Creation

Every year during the Festival, European presence increases exponentially. This is in terms of both the number of people present but also in the quality of those present for engaging with the public and the French professionals.

This heightened presence demonstrates a growing European interest in the quality of works created by French writers, directors, and producers.

So, how is it possible for this European presence, which has been reinforced year after year, to benefit French creation and its international influence?

Over one afternoon, in a convivial location and in the framework of the Festival de la Fiction, meetings will be held between European professionals invited to La Rochelle, whether they be producers, distributors, or broadcasters, and Francophone producers who have developing television series with international potential.

Goals of the RCF

The primary objective of the Rendez-vous of Francophone Creation is to facilitate and to catalyse encounters between European investors and Francophone producers with projects of television series in development possessing international potential.
Conversely to large programme markets, this event is about creating a convivial meeting place, a privileged and intimate working environment where Francophone producers will be able to meet foreign investors who are attentive and interested in Francophone production.

An Event Structured Into Four Steps

The Festival will launch a call for projects aimed at Francophone producers with a television series in development which has international potential and an author’s contract. Around fifteen projects will be selected.

The chosen producers will have the opportunity to meet foreign investors (Amazon, Beta Film, ZDF Enterprise, RTVE, ITV Studios, Copenhagen Film Fund, etc.) interested in potentially participating in the co-production, the pre-purchase or MG of financing of these television series with international potential.
